Deposit cancellation policy

What you pay
KiwiQuest Camper Sales uses two deposit stages:
- Reservation Deposit (€415) plus Reservation Deposit Protection (€35) via Stripe — marks the vehicle as reserved
- Payment Deposit (typically 50% of the asking price) — invoiced later after reservation; not charged at Stripe checkout
- Neither stage is the full purchase price or a rental security bond
- The Reservation Deposit applies toward the purchase at final settlement if you complete the sale; Reservation Deposit Protection does not
Vehicles are reserved for pickup at the listing location in New Zealand. There is no international shipping.
Any optional buyback offer (if shown on the listing) is separate from this deposit policy.
Refunds are measured against the agreed New Zealand pickup date for that reservation. If purchase paperwork is signed or keys are handed over before that date, that earlier moment becomes the hard gate — no further cancellation under this policy.
Reservation Deposit — cancellation by the buyer
Applies to the €415 Reservation Deposit paid at Stripe checkout.

Reservation Deposit Protection (€35) is non-refundable when the buyer cancels.
Payment Deposit — cancellation by the buyer
Applies after the Payment Deposit has been paid (or is otherwise due under your invoice).

In plain language
- Cancel the reservation early enough (two weeks or more before pickup) and you get the €415 Reservation Deposit back; we keep the €35 Protection fee.
- Cancel late on the Reservation Deposit (inside two weeks) and we keep half of the €415 — the vehicle was held off the market for you at short notice.
- The Payment Deposit has a stricter clock: full refund only at 30+ days; half retained from 14–29 days; none inside 14 days or after handover.
- Miss pickup or complete the handover, and deposits covered by this policy are not refundable.
Cancellation by KiwiQuest
If KiwiQuest cancels the reservation or cannot supply the reserved vehicle as agreed, you receive a full refund of the Reservation Deposit (€415) and Reservation Deposit Protection (€35), and any Payment Deposit already paid. No retention applies in that case.
How to request a cancellation / refund
Email team@kiwiquest.de with:
- Your name and the email used at checkout
- Vehicle title or listing link / vehicle ID
- Agreed pickup date (if known)
- That you wish to cancel the reservation and request a deposit refund under this policy
We confirm in writing which fee(s) apply and whether the request falls in the full-refund, partial-retention, or no-refund window.
Refund timing and fees
- Approved refunds are normally processed within 5–10 business days back to the original payment method (timing can vary by card issuer).
- Card / Stripe processing fees that KiwiQuest cannot recover may be deducted from an otherwise full refund. Any such deduction will be stated when we confirm the refund.
- Partial refunds (50% retained window) follow the same payout timing for the refundable half.
What this policy does not cover
- The balance of the purchase price after deposits
- Rental-style damage / excess / bond charges (this product is a sale reservation, not a hire)
- Buyback terms after a completed trip or sale (if offered on a listing)
- Pickup date changes — amendments are by agreement with the team and may affect how the cancellation clock is calculated
